Pitt Street Business District
Trendy shops and restaurants tucked into a sleepy, historic neighborhood, the Pitt Street Business District is Mount Pleasant’s original downtown. To preserve and enhance this unique area, Mount Pleasant Waterworks, the Town of Mount Pleasant and SCE&G are working collaboratively to provide an improved pedestrian experience while increasing public safety and health.
The Pitt Street Capital Improvement Project is a multi-agency, collaborative initiative designed to preserve the unique character of this historic business district by enhancing the overall visitor experience through investments in sanitary sewer, stormwater and streetscaping. These organizations will work together to minimize the community impact during construction. Construction is expected to last from mid-January 2018 until May 2018.
