Barks and Brews: 6 Dog-Friendly Happy Hours

  1. Red’s Ice House

While you enjoy a bucket of ice-cold Coronas, your pooch can cool down with his own bucket of ice water on Red’s sprawling patio overlooking Shem Creek. Though dogs are always allowed outside, every Wednesday is “Yappy Hour” where you can mingle with other four-legged patrons and their owners. Website.

  2. Muddy’s Dock Bar at Vickery’s

If your dog isn’t content to curl at your feet while you enjoy a beer, visit the dockside bar at Vickery’s Wednesday through Sunday. Let your dog explore the sand and walk the dock while you kick back. Website.

  3. Two Blokes Brewing

If rain is in the forecast, there’s no reason to leave your pet at home. Two Blokes welcomes all (well-behaved, leashed) dogs inside the brewery. In addition to 10 brews on tap for humans, there’s water and treats available for pups, though they might prefer a bite from one of the food trucks often parked outside on Friday evenings. Website.

  4. Elements Social Bar

If you (or your dog!) are looking for something more refined, Elements has a wide selection of wines by the glass and specialty cocktails. Dogs are more than welcome to curl up by the outdoor fire pit if the weather turns chilly. Website.

  5. My Father’s Moustache

Inside there are 22 beers on tap; outside there are lighted bocce courts, cornhole, and lots of cold water ready to go in dog bowls. There’s also a separate outside bar during busy times, so there’s no need to tie up your dog when it’s time for another round. Website.

  6. House of Brews

In addition to 8 beers on tap and hundreds of bottles, this hidden gem may have the most dog-friendly outside space in Mount Pleasant. Large and fenced-in, there’s plenty of room on the patio for thirsty dogs and owners. Website.
