Hermosa Jewelry and Brown Fox Coffee celebrated the opening of their new locations with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, October 24. Mount Pleasant Mayor Linda Page and Town Council Members Joe Bustos, Elton Carrier and Mark Smith were in attendance.
“Congratulations to Hermosa Jewelry and Brown Fox Coffee,” said Mayor Page. “It is truly wonderful to see local businesses grow and thrive in Mount Pleasant. We wish both businesses much success!”
Haley Keisler, owner of Hermosa Jewelry, designs and creates each piece of jewelry at her flagship store in Mount Pleasant. Her work is heavily influenced by her Southern lifestyle and surrounding coastal landscapes. Keisler has also designed a line of jewelry that not only celebrates the Sweetgrass Basket culture, but also incorporates handwoven pieces by local basket-weavers.
“I’m very excited that after 15 years of selling jewelry, I finally have my own retail space. It just so happens to be next to Moultrie Middle School, where I began making jewelry as a young girl. It has all come full circle,” said Keisler.
Sharing brick-and-mortar with Hermosa Jewelry, Brown Fox Coffee serves traditional and specialty espresso drinks along with various other treats, in a unique, outdoor setting. Biz Foxworth, owner, decided to build a business around a product that she is passionate about—coffee. Brown Fox Coffee began as a mobile coffee shop operating in a 16-foot enclosed trailer, but now, has a permanent location with a service window and outdoor seating.
“After being in the mobile coffee truck for over two years, I’m so excited to have a more permanent location to serve our loyal customers better,” said Foxworth. “We will certainly continue to put our main ingredient of love in every cup. We really do believe that good things happen over good coffee, and we hope to provide that here for our community.”
