MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (May 24, 2017) – Jim ‘N Nick’s Community Bar-B-Q’s Mount Pleasant location opened on Tuesday, May 23. The restaurant, located at 1486 Stuart Engals Blvd, is open for its regular business hours from 11:00AM until 9:30PM. Jim ‘N Nick’s celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 24. Mount Pleasant Mayor Linda Page, along with Mayor Pro Tempore Gary Santos, Town Council Members Elton Carrier and Mark Smith, and Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce President Chris Staubes were in attendance to cut the ceremonial ribbon.
“Congratulations to Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q on the grand opening of their Mount Pleasant location,” said Mayor Linda Page. “We look forward to their involvement in our business community and anticipate a bright future ahead.”
With locations across the Southeast, the Mount Pleasant store will be the 38th Jim ’N Nick’s restaurant to have opened since Nick Pihakis, and his late father, Jim Pihakis, opened their first location in Birmingham, Alabama in 1985.
“We are still very much a family business,” said Nick Pihakis, CEO and Founder of Jim ‘N Nicks. “We have grown as a company over the years, but we refuse to take any shortcuts. Everything we serve in our restaurant is fresh, and we to try support as many local vendors as possible.”
Following the recent closing of Nick’s BBQ (part of the Jim ’N Nick’s family) on King Street in downtown Charleston, the company is excited to open a new location to continue serving barbecue to the area and provide jobs to former King Street employees.
“We’ve been doing business in Charleston for almost twelve years, and to finally be able to have a restaurant in Mount Pleasant, well, it’s about time! We are so excited to fire up our pits and serve our loyal guests east of the Cooper River,” said local owner John Haire.
Jim ‘N Nick’s currently has one other Charleston location, located in North Charleston. The Mount Pleasant store will offer casual dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, and full service catering.
