Boone Hall Plantation Reopening with
Health Measures in Place

Boone Hall Plantation is reopening this week and they are taking serious measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Here is a list of precautions that staff will be taking at Boone Hall Plantation:

  • Temperature Screening: Anyone, meaning visitors and employees, with an elevated temperature will not be allowed on property.
  • Protection for Guides: All plantation guides will be wearing gloves and face masks, Select areas of the plantation will also be "fogged" with disinfectant.
  • Social Distancing: Visitors will be asked to practice social distancing (at least 6 feet apart) and these rules will be enforced by onsite staff.
  • Public Restrooms: Public restrooms at Boone Hall Plantation will be open except when they are being cleaned at pre-planned times throughout the day. Sanitation stations will be placed at several locations around the property.

Visitors will be able to take personal tours of the outside areas at their own pace. Gullah, beehive, farming, and horticulture presentations will be held outdoors and social distancing rules will be enforced for the audience. The inside of the plantation house is not currently open to the public. 


Dates that Boone Hall Plantation is planning to reopen:

  • May 21 - May 23 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • May 24 from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • May 25 (Memorial Day) from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
