Sweetgrass Half Marathon
Enjoy starting at the Mount Pleasant Recreation Complex and running through the picturesque Carolina Park neighborhood. This is a flat and fast course. Enjoy marsh views as you run along Darrell Creek on your way to completing the Half Marathon.
2024 Sweetgrass Half Marathon takes place on Saturday, February 24 at the Park West Recreation Complex starting at 7:30 a.m.
Mount Pleasant artFest
This annual festival brings families and cultural enthusiasts together with budding and professional artists for an event that showcases a diverse array of local and regional artistic talent. Local music, dance and visual arts studios offer stunning performances by some of the area’s most talented individuals and groups.

Mount Pleasant Farmers Market
The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is a gathering place for locals and visitors to leisurely explore the market’s treasure trove of the freshest local vegetables, fruits, seafood, flowers, baked and canned goods, fresh-cooked meals, and snacks. Live music each week.
The Market opens on Tuesdays in April through September at the Farmers Market Pavilion from 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The Cooper River Bridge Run is the best organized and best conducted 10-K race in the world. It includes world-class competition in a unique setting with unparalleled participant satisfaction.

Blessing of the Fleet &
Seafood Festival
The Annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year! The festival pays tribute to the local shrimping and fishing industry. Participants are treated to the ceremonial blessing of the shrimp/fishing fleet, savory seafood samplings sold by some of Mount Pleasant’s best restaurants, live music, a craft show, Shag and shrimp-eating contests, and family-friendly activities.
2024 Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival takes place on Sunday, April 28 at Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sweetgrass festival
The annual Sweetgrass Festival is designed to promote and bring attention to the contributions of the Gullah Geechee people’s history, culture, traditions and their sweetgrass basket art. Offering free admission, entertainment and activities, the Sweetgrass Festival also provides an opportunity for local basket makers to showcase, promote and market their sweetgrass merchandise to locals as well as cultural tourists from around the country.
2024 Sweetgrass Festival is on Saturday, July 27 at Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Waterfront Music & Movies
Sit back and enjoy live music and a movie with an incredible sunset behind the beautiful Ravenel Bridge and Charleston Harbor! Music and food sales begin before sunset and the movie begins after sunset.
2024 Waterfront Music & Movies starts on Fridays in August at Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park from 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Note: There will be no event on August 30.
Children's Day festival
Families will enjoy carnival rides, inflatable slides, live entertainment, pony rides, games and many other activities!
2024 Children’s Day Festival takes place on Sunday, October 20 at the Park West Recreation Complex from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Holiday Market & Craft Show
Live entertainment with a holiday twist will kindle the holiday spirit throughout the market. The annual Holiday Market provides the perfect opportunity for customers to complete their holiday shopping. Come see this year’s wonderful assortment of Christmas ornaments, glass work, whimsical crafts, and a wide variety of original art by locally recognized potters, artists, craftsmen and photographers.
2024 Holiday Market & Craft Show takes place on Saturday, December 14 at the Farmers Market Pavilion from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Christmas Light Parade
Brilliantly lit floats and community groups will march up West Coleman Boulevard as the Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade sets sail to the delight of thousands of residents and visitors. The festivities begin with a spectacular Pyrotecnico fireworks show, immediately followed by the start of the parade.
2024 Christmas Light Parade takes place on Sunday, December 15 on Coleman Blvd.
