Located under the grand entryway to the town at the base of the Ravenel Bridge, this park has a lush lawn perfect for a romantic picnic. Nearby is the River Watch Café where you can pick up soft serve ice cream. Enjoy beautiful views of the Charleston Harbor at the Mount Pleasant Pier where you can sit and swing a while, or try your hand at fishing. While you’re there, get a feel for the local culture at the Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Pavilion, War Memorial, and Visitor Center.

Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens

Boone Hall Plantation is a publicly-toured historic site located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Take a guided tour of the mansion that exists on Boone Hall Plantation, which was built in 1936. Walk the gardens, which is a showcase of the year-round color of flowers and other plants. Stop and smell the antique rose garden which features roses that are over 100 years old. Check out the butterfly pavilion to witness different species of colorful butterflies fly freely in their natural element.

Shem Creek

The waterfront district at Shem Creek is a local favorite with fantastic restaurants and bars with gorgeous waterfront views of Shem Creek, the Charleston Harbor, and surrounding marshes. If you want to stretch your sea legs, rent a kayak, paddleboard, or boat tour to view Shem Creek from a unique perspective. For land lovers, stroll the boardwalk and watch the sun sink into the sea. Keep an eye out for coastal wildlife such as dolphins, various birds, crabs, and more!

Pitt Street Bridge

Visit the Old Village Historic District for lunch at a charming restaurant and then continue to the Pitt Street Bridge. Once a trolley bridge that connected Sullivan’s Island and Mount Pleasant, the Pitt Street Bridge is now a scenic public park for recreation and relaxation. Soak in panoramic views of the Charleston Harbor and nearby inlets on foot or bike. Stop and relax for a while to enjoy a sunset picnic. Not only is Pitt Street Bridge open to human residents and visitors but it is also a welcoming place for your furry four-legged friends. Always remember to keep your pets on the leash and clean up after them.

Patriots Point

Patriots Point is where Mount Pleasant and the Charleston Harbor meet. Walk in the footsteps of heroes in the USS Yorktown at the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum. Take the pedestrian walking path on the Cooper River Bridge for breathtaking views of the Charleston Harbor. To feel the sea breeze, book a sailing charter to really wow your spouse. If you and your partner are competitive, take a few swings at the Patriots Point Links, a world class golf course.
