The annual Holiday Market & Craft Show combines all the goodies from our traditional food market such as locally grown fresh produce, baked goods, hot food, and homemade preserves with handcrafted gifts created by local artisans. Come see this year’s wonderful assortment of Christmas ornaments, glasswork, whimsical crafts, and a wide variety of original art by locally recognized potters, artists, craftsmen, and photographers. Activities

Live entertainment with a holiday twist will kindle the holiday spirit throughout the market. Children’s activities will include balloon art, caricature drawings, and a visit with Santa Claus, who will listen to Christmas wishes and hand out surprises. The annual Holiday Market provides the perfect opportunity for customers to complete their holiday shopping and purchase original pieces from talented local artists. As always, admission and parking are free and all residents and visitors are welcome to delight in this unique shopping experience.

Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade

5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Brilliantly lit floats and community groups will march up West Coleman Boulevard as the Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade sets sail to the delight of thousands of residents and visitors. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a spectacular Pyrotecnico fireworks show, immediately followed by the start of the parade at Live Oak Dr. traveling south and ending at the intersection of W. Coleman Blvd. and Patriots Point Rd.


Coleman Boulevard Road Closure Schedule:



  • Whilden St. to Pherigo St. closes at 4:00 p.m. for the lineup

  • Whilden St. to Patriots Point Rd. closes at 5:00 p.m.

  • Ravenel Bridge off-ramp onto Coleman Blvd. closes at 5:00 (all traffic diverted to Highway 17)

  • Patriots Point Rd. from Coleman Blvd. to Harry Hallman Blvd. closes at 5:00 (all Patriots Point and hotel/golf course traffic will divert onto Harry Hallman)


ATTENTION DRONE PILOTS: To help ensure we have a safe event, the Town of Mount Pleasant requests that drone pilots not fly over or along the parade route. Pilots are reminded that the Federal Aviation Authority requires a Part 107 Waiver if they are going to fly at night or fly over people. Who’s ready to do some oyster shucking? How does over 50,000 pounds of oysters sound? The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is the world’s largest oyster festival! Please join on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Boone Hall Plantation for the 41st annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival. Highlights include live music on the main stage, raw oyster eating and shucking contests, wine, a selection of domestic and imported beers, specialty cocktails, a Children’s Area (“Pluff-a-Palooza”), and a Food Court showcasing a variety of local favorite restaurants to satisfy everyone’s taste.

Sweetgrass Half Marathon

7:30 am - 2:00 pm

The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department will host the 5th Annual Sweetgrass Half Marathon at 7:30 am Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025The race begins and ends at the Park West Recreational Complex in Mount Pleasant.


Runners start at the Mount Pleasant Recreation Complex and run through the picturesque Carolina Park neighborhood. This is a flat and fast course. Runners enjoy marsh views along Darrell Creek on the way to completing the Half Marathon. View the Sweetgrass Half Marathon course on MapMyRun. Register for the race at the Town of Mount Pleasant, SC website.


The annual “Running of the Weenies” will take place at 11:00 AM at the Park West Recreation Complex.
