Activities for you and your favorite four-legged friends!
Shem Creek Park
Take a relaxing stroll with your leashed dog up and down the boardwalk from Coleman Boulevard to near the mouth of the creek. This area offers a panoramic view of Shem Creek and Charleston Harbor. You can look into the marsh to find several different forms of wildlife including fish, birds, crabs and more. Often you will be greeted by dolphins swimming in and out of the creek.
If you are looking for a longer walk, the Pitt Street Bridge is just the place! Start by adventuring through the gorgeous Old Village Historic District and end up at the Pitt Street Railroad Bridge. This is the former railroad causeway that connected Mount Pleasant to Sullivan's Island. You can now walk your leashed dog and enjoy stunning views of the sunset.
Enjoy the beautiful grounds of Boone Hall Plantation with your pup, who must be leashed here. Taking a self-guided tour of the surrounding gardens is a must-do to soak in the sights. Stop an smell the roses that have been growing for over 100 years! Dogs are not allowed on house tours.
Located at the base of the Cooper River Bridge, this is titled the "Crown Jewel of Mount Pleasant". Memorial Waterfront Park offers wide-open views of the Charleston Harbor and plenty of green lawn to spend time with your playful pooch. All dogs should be leashed here.
