Yuletide On The Yorktown

10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Yuletide on the Yorktown brings together locals and visitors alike to experience holiday magic onboard the USS Yorktown!

Guests will be able to browse local vendors, shop artisanal goods, grab a bite to eat, enjoy live music and more while immersing themselves in the history of the renowned WWII aircraft carrier. Santa will be making a stop on the ship from 1-4 pm and pictures will be available for purchase.

Christmas at Boone Hall Plantation

Tours of the plantation home during the Christmas holidays are included with regular paid admission to Boone Hall Plantation! There is no additional charge to tour the mansion beautifully decorated for the Christmas holidays.

As the Christmas holidays roll through these giant oaks, Boone Hall comes alive with festivities, decorations, and good ole southern holiday hospitality, that is only befitting America’s Most Photographed plantation. This time of year re-emphasizes how Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens is truly “Unlike Any Other” as one of the leading tourist attractions in the Charleston, S.C. Lowcountry.

The plantation mansion and grounds are decorated with beautiful Christmas decorations of every kind. But there’s something special about this plantation home’s holiday attire. Yes… there are plenty of beautiful Christmas trees in every room of the plantation’s main floor…adorned with a variety of Christmas ornaments and decorations. But if you look closely, you will see some things that are very unique about the decorations that are distributed all around.

A Gullah Christmas Concert

A Christmas concert event that will have a Gullah Christmas theme! This event features special Gullah Christmas stories by a number of presenters and Christmas songs performed by the Plantation Singers.

Mount Pleasant Holiday Market & Craft Show

The annual Holiday Market & Craft Show combines all the goodies from our traditional food market such as locally grown fresh produce, baked goods, hot food, and homemade preserves with handcrafted gifts created by local artisans. Come see this year’s wonderful assortment of Christmas ornaments, glasswork, whimsical crafts, and a wide variety of original art by locally recognized potters, artists, craftsmen, and photographers. Activities

Live entertainment with a holiday twist will kindle the holiday spirit throughout the market. Children’s activities will include balloon art, caricature drawings, and a visit with Santa Claus, who will listen to Christmas wishes and hand out surprises. The annual Holiday Market provides the perfect opportunity for customers to complete their holiday shopping and purchase original pieces from talented local artists. As always, admission and parking are free and all residents and visitors are welcome to delight in this unique shopping experience.

Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade

5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Brilliantly lit floats and community groups will march up West Coleman Boulevard as the Mount Pleasant Christmas Light Parade sets sail to the delight of thousands of residents and visitors. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a spectacular Pyrotecnico fireworks show, immediately followed by the start of the parade at Live Oak Dr. traveling south and ending at the intersection of W. Coleman Blvd. and Patriots Point Rd.

Coleman Boulevard Road Closure Schedule:

  • Whilden St. to Pherigo St. closes at 4:00 p.m. for the lineup
  • Whilden St. to Patriots Point Rd. closes at 5:00 p.m.
  • Ravenel Bridge off-ramp onto Coleman Blvd. closes at 5:00 (all traffic diverted to Highway 17)
  • Patriots Point Rd. from Coleman Blvd. to Harry Hallman Blvd. closes at 5:00 (all Patriots Point and hotel/golf course traffic will divert onto Harry Hallman)

ATTENTION DRONE PILOTS: To help ensure we have a safe event, the Town of Mount Pleasant requests that drone pilots not fly over or along the parade route. Pilots are reminded that the Federal Aviation Authority requires a Part 107 Waiver if they are going to fly at night or fly over people.
